(RISING JUNIORS AND RISING SENIORS) Making Your Mark is a paid summer studio program taking inspiration from the works of Isamu Noguchi, students will explore self-expression and personal growth through sculpture. The program meets at The Noguchi Museum on July 7–Aug. 1, Mondays–Thursdays, 11 am–4 pm. Participants are expected to attend all fifteen sessions and will be paid a stipend of $600 upon completion of the program. The Ranger Conservation Corps is a great environmental internship for students interested in the natural world. Gain experience while working with the Urban Park Rangers on environmental restoration in natural areas in our flagship parks. Interns receive community service hours, and the experience looks great on a college application!

Program Dates/Times: Fall and spring sessions. Each session lasts approximately eight (8) weeks. The program occurs one day a week, on a school day afternoon for 2 to 2.5 hours.

How to apply: Ranger Conservation Corps session dates are flexible and registration is on a rolling basis year round. The first step is to contact the Ranger Conservation Corps. Our Urban Park Rangers will work with you to get you placed at a park location with a schedule that works for you!

National Queer Theater is seeking a group of talented 13-25 year olds [actors, singers, dancers, and deep thinkers] to participate in a four day developmental workshop for a new musical play. During the workshop, students will get to try on roles and songs from the show, share their own insights on the characters, and foster queer community dedicated to uplifting LGBTQ+ voices throughout history.  Learn more about the new play here!

(Saturdays!!) (Current 9th-11th Graders) The Columbia University Science Honors Program (SHP) is a year-long Saturday program for high school students who have a strong interest in the sciences and mathematics.

Classes are Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at Columbia University throughout the academic year. Courses are primarily in the physical, chemical, biological, behavioral, and computing sciences; and instructors are scientists and mathematicians who are actively engaged in research at the University.

Program cost is $350/semester. NOTE: Fee waivers may be available for students with documented financial hardships. Funds are granted after you’ve fully applied (so you won’t know until you’ve applied.)

FilmLaunch students will embark on a journey through the rich legacy of cinematic storytelling, exploring early film history to the digital media of today. The course emphasizes how stories can drive change in the world, analyzing works from revolutionary filmmakers, especially those rooted in New York City! As the storytellers of tomorrow, you will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on technical film-making, culminating in a collaborative project where you will work in teams to write, direct, and produce a short film together.
